The decaffeination process is chosen with the same care as the bean and the roast. Coffee King uses the Swiss Water Process — a 100% chemical-free method that uses only water and activated carbon filtration to remove 99.9% of caffeine, with zero solvents and no chemical contact at any stage. Where solvent-based decaffeination strips away the aromatic oils and flavour compounds along with the caffeine, the Swiss Water Process preserves them. The baking chocolate depth, the hazelnut character, the caramel sweetness and the long floral finish survive the process intact, because the process was selected specifically to protect them. The Swiss Water Process costs more than conventional decaffeination. Coffee King chose it anyway, because the cup required it.
